Costa girls lacrosse won against Palos Verdes High School, 14-11, on Wednesday. During the first plays of the game, the team started off strong and continued to challenge their opponents as the game continued. The fog did not get in the way of the Mustangs as they held strong against the Seakings and were in the lead at the half, 9-7.

“This year we have a great group of players that work well together offensively and defensively on the field as well as off the field,” senior Grace Stuart said. “I believe that this has given us a great start to the season and will help us end Bay League successfully as well as make it to CIF.”

This game was one of the team’s many victories of the season, with the teams current record being 10-3. This win against PV was the last game of the regular season, however the Mustangs will enter CIF playoffs on May 1st until the 11th.

“Kate Donnelley has been an amazing teammate to work with so far this season,” Calder said. “You can definitely tell that she is dedicated, and that comes hand in hand with performing on the field. She is one of our many top scorers on the team and will never play down to anyone’s level.”

According to senior Madison Calder, everyone is excited to extend their season and continue to play with the amazing girls on the team. The coach hopes to make this season the best season yet!
