Editors-in-Chief
We wrote our first Ed. Note almost a year ago– Volume 72, Issue 10– looking forward at a year
we knew would be full of fast-paced chaos, rapidly approaching deadlines, seemingly
insurmountable challenges and countless lifelong memories. We were beyond excited about our
newly appointed positions of editors-in-chief. We were nervous for the daunting task ahead. We
were constantly thinking about everything we wanted to do with the paper under our leadership.
We were getting used to working with a whole staff and simultaneously learning to work with
each other.
This year went by faster than we could’ve imagined. It felt like just yesterday that we were
saying goodbye to the seniors, and now we’ve stepped into their shoes. Last year, five people
on the editorial and managing boards stayed behind; this year, everyone except five people will
stay behind. It is going to be so difficult saying goodbye to everyone. We’ve watched them (and
ourselves) grow as writers, editors and, most of all as people, in the past year, and the bonds
we’ve all created are unforgettable.
Sofia– thank you for being such an incredible managing editor this year. You were our secret
third EIC, and you are truly indispensable; we could not have done it without you. Sofia and
Ava– you girls are going to do such an amazing job with this paper next year. It will be a
challenge, but we know you can handle it. Have so much fun in your final year on the paper, and
we cannot wait to see what you accomplish next year and beyond. Call us anytime, we will miss
you!
And with that, we leave the paper in your hands. Signing off as EIC for the last time,
Isabella and Elizabeth.
