Mira Costa placed 5th in the men’s championship Oct. 6 and 7 at the Asics Clovis Invitational. The team got a total of 204 points, just beating Ventura High School, and improved its high ranking to 5th in Division I.
October 10 the team competed in Bay League meet at Cheviot Hills Park, but results were not available at the time of publication. Later in the month, they will compete in the 75th Annual Mt. SAC meet in Mt. San Antonio College on Oct. 21.
In Bay League play, Costa has the top 5 runners for the men: 1. Adam Divinity (14:38.4); Parker Stickney (14:45.3); 3. Kyle Nguyen (14:46.8); 4. Owen Franck (14:48.7); and 5. Issac Faynsod (14:55.6)
The women Mira Costa also have the top 5 runners of women in the Bay League. 1. Phoebe Benun (16:54.6); 2. Alexandra Manss (17:29.6); 3. Lyla Feido (17:44.4); 4. Alana Clarke (18:03.4); and 5. Matilde Martinez (18.19.8).
For the women, Mira Costa has two sophomore taking on a big role on varsity. Alexandra Manss and Alana Clarke have both been doing great this season and both are ranked in the top 5 of women Bay League runners.
