Costa boys’ water polo played their first CIF game last Saturday Nov. 4 against Alta Loma High school. They won 11-6 and were led by senior Madox Mecwen who scored 4 goals and drew two, 5 meters.
“The game was only a taste of what our competition is going to be like and we need to be ready to play teams twice as good as Alta Loma.” Said senior varsity water polo starter Maddox McEwen
Mira Costa water polo’s next CIF game is going to be against Huntington Beach Wednesday, November 8. They will play at home at 5:00 pm. Senior Penn Clay expects this to be a hard fought game due to Huntington Beach previously being in open division and now dropping down to D1.
“Huntington is a good program and after dropping out of the open division are going to be a strong team that we need to be well prepared for.“
