The Costa Drama/Tech Department held its annual Holiday Benefit show in the Small Theater on Tuesday at 7 p.m to raise funds for Adopt-a-Family.
Each year, the Drama Department supports a new family through the Richstone Adopt-a-Family Organization. A ticket to the show cost $5. Using the proceeds from the event, the Drama/Tech Department buys gifts and supplies requested by the family.
“This event is something that we look forward to every year,” said senior Drama/Tech President Abby Brown. “I am so fulfilled knowing that my last one was successful.”
The Holiday Benefit consisted of two acts. There were 11 scenes in the first act, followed by ten scenes in the second. In between the acts was a 15-minute intermission.
“The Holiday Benefit is a great way to do something nice during the holiday season,” said junior Drama/Tech member Jaxon Stroyke. “It is so fun to put on and everyone is so talented. I think it turns out to be a great show.”
The show was entirely student- run and produced. Participants performed a variety of dances, songs, and skits.
“My favorite part about the Holiday Benefit is getting to perform something of my choice and that everyone gets to perform something completely different,” said Brown.
