The Mira Costa girls basketball team lost to the Brea Olinda Wildcats at home on Saturday Feb. 19 in the second round of CIF play. Despite great efforts, the girls were unable to overcome the number one team in the nation, and fell 67-53.

Seniors Kylie Nakamine and Joelle Herron were Costa’s leading scorers with 19 and 14 points. Herron had seven rebounds and two steals. The Mustang’s strong defensive plays helped them stay in the game.

The girls finish their season with this game and have an overall record of 19-10 and a Bay League record of 8-2.
