The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes from July-Oct caused the Emmys to be postponed multiple times.

Host Anthony Anderson started off the night eliciting intense laughter and applause from the audience as he performed a monologue of “Mr. Rogers.” Anderson masterfully delivered witty remarks and fun songs, cultivating an enjoyable ambiance for both the theater attendees and those watching online. During his monologue, the comedic remarks he made were one of the most memorable moments of the night.

Gosling’s surprised and confused facial expression went viral and became most shared moments of the night.

Another noteworthy part of the Emmys was the cast reunion of Grey’s Anatomy. Their appearance was a huge crowd pleaser to fans of this iconic ongoing show. Cast members including Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, and Justin Chambers all gathered together making this reunion the first in many years.
