Mira Costa’s ASB held the second of three UCLA Health blood drives on Feb. 1st in the small gym.
Donors were required to be 16 years or older, and over 110 pounds. According to UCLA Health, the UCLA Blood & Platelet Center receives around 60,000 donations every year. According to Cedars Sinai, one pint of blood can save up to three lives. Costa collected 125 pints of blood and hosted over 150 donors. The next blood drive will be held in May.
“Over 150 people ended up donating, it was a huge success,” said senior Mira Kawaldi. “It’s great to see people come out here and give blood.”
