Costa Associated Student Body ASB held its bi-annual Campus Beautification Day on April 20th from 9am-1pm Students and faculty helped clean up Costa’s campus and give back to the school.
Volunteers were from a vari- ety of community organizations and clubs at school, including Health students, the Ecoland Restoration club and Amigos Unidos. The event was open to anyone who wanted to participate and volunteers could come for however long during the event.
“Being a part of the Ecoland Restoration club [and] seeing the campus dirty while walking out of Spanish class, we want- ed to help our campus become more eco friendly,” said junior Darby Roath.
The volunteers who participated were separated into different groups to focus on a certain part of the campus. Volunteers focused on raking leaves, picking up trash around the campus, pulling weeds, watering plants, and cleaning the most used parts of the campus.
“While being at Costa for four years now and being a part of Amigos Undios, I strive to make the campus a better place by focusing on cleaning for the surrounding students and staff,” said senior Luke Kershaw.
ASB welcomed any volun- teers that wanted to beautify the campus and put in work to give back to the community. Volun- teers were given tools such as rakes, brooms, trashcans, and trash grabbers to successfully clean the campus.
“As my first year in ASB, it’s great to see all the other members that participated work together,” said junior Will Nammack.
