Mira Costa’s Annual Club Day

Mira Costa students check out the clubs for 2024, and purchase foods to help support their cause.

On October 6th Mira Costa hosted their first Club Day event of the school year , where all students came together to learn about the different clubs, opportunities,  and support their fellow peers by trying all types of food.

Popular meals were being sold by various club booths in order to raise money for their organizations. In specific, a new philanthropic club this year entitled Club H.E.R.O sold California Pizza Kitchen to raise money for their volunteering activities. As students roamed the quad and ate their lunch, they looked at the different club booths to see which ones sparked their interest.

Everyone was excited to learn about the new clubs being offered in 2024, along with what’s in store. “My experience was good,” said sophomore Keeley Maloney. “I saw lots of clubs that I might think about joining in the future, and the food made it even better.”

Overall, Club Day is a great way to boost school spirit and encourage student involvement and participation. Many clubs use this as a chance to promote their causes, and this event makes  it easier for students to find activities they enjoy and new ones that they might be interested in.

“I like Club Day because it’s a good opportunity to raise money for our club and connect with current and new members,” said sophomore and Club H.E.R.O. co-president Maren Klein. “It helps us gather the funds we need for our volunteer baking, cooking, and other projects for the 1736 Family Crisis Center.”
