Costa’s Dance Team is hosting their annual Lip Sync competition on Thursday November 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Lip Sync battle is a fundraiser organized by Costa’s Dance Team to support their program and showcase some of the best performances on campus.

Last year, 5th period ASB took home first place with their space-themed performance. Dressed as aliens and astronauts, they danced to hits like “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “Levitating,” captivating the audience with their creativity and energy. Comedy Sports earned second place with their lively zombie-themed performance, blending humor and spookiness. 4th period ASB won Best Costumes, impressing everyone dressed as Toy Story characters. The competition was filled with standout performances, setting the bar high for this year’s event.

The lineup promises even more excitement. The Costa girls’ soccer team is set to perform a high-energy Rio mashup, featuring vibrant costumes, upbeat music, and choreography that captures the lively spirit of Brazilian dance.

“We’re bringing the energy and a whole lot of color to the stage,” senior Taylor Hauck said. “It’s our first time ever doing the Lip Sync competition, and we’re ready to give the audience something to remember!”

Meanwhile, 5th period ASB has a performance in store that they’re confident will be a crowd favorite. With a reputation for standout costumes and clever routines, 5th period ASB is ready to entertain and, once again, make a lasting impression on the audience and judges.

“ASB is once again thrilled to participate in this year’s Lip Sync, a long standing tradition where both ASB class periods compete against each other,” senior Isaac Faynsod said. “As a senior, it feels bittersweet knowing this will be my last chance to compete, but I couldn’t ask for a better group to dance with than ASB.”

Also gearing up for the big night, Costa’s Comedy Sports and Advanced Drama groups— known for their hilarious performances and knack for engaging the crowd—are preparing to bring their unique flair to the stage. Both teams have crafted routines that promise plenty of laughs, creative choreography, and memorable moments, adding to the variety and excitement of the competition.

“I’m super excited for this year’s Lip Sync!” said senior Jaxon Stroyke, who will be performing with both Comedy Sports and Advanced Drama. “It’s my fourth year doing it so it feels like a tradition to do and it’s coming to a close this year!”

This year’s Lip Sync competition promises a full night of energy, talent, and school spirit, with bold choreography, fun costumes, and exciting surprises. Come cheer on your classmates and enjoy unforgettable performances on Thursday, November 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. — it’s a night you won’t want to miss!
