The 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will return to Indio, California, on two weekends, April 11–13 and April 18–20. While many people have already bought tickets, mixed emotions have risen on the lineup of artists that was announced on November 20th, after many people had already purchased tickets.
It is no surprise that many people were quick to buy tickets, wanting to get a good price and quality tickets. However, this approach has sparked mixed reactions, particularly from those who bought tickets without knowing which artists would be performing.
The 2025 Coachella headliners include Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott. While each of these acts brings a unique energy, the announcement has left some fans underwhelmed.
“I was super excited to get Coachella tickets. I was so quick to buy them,” said senior Katie Philips, “When the lineup came out I was a little disappointed. Coachella is known for bringing in amazing artists, but I don’t love the lineup this year.”
While Coachella is known for brining in renowned artists, there is also a number of underground artists. Coachella aims to reach all audiences, and although they have a wide variety of art installations and singers, some rely solely on the headliners for entertainment
“The past years lineups have been really good, so my expectations were high,” said senior Liam Kemple, “I like a few of the artists, but I was expecting something more”
It is not easy to appeal to everyone’s taste, and while there are people who don’t like the 2025 lineup, others are loving it. Travis Scott is currently the most talked-about headliner on social media, with fans buzzing over his attendance at Coachella.
“I really like the lineup. I know a lot of people don’t but I am really excited for Travis Scott and a couple others,” said junior Jordan Shelor.
While many have strong preferences for specific artists, others are more excited about the overall Coachella experience. There is no doubt that Coachella brings a lot of excitement all around, regardless of the music. However their decision to release the artist lineup after tickets went on sale has led to widespread disappointment, with many people planning on selling their tickets or feeling frustrated by the lack of transparency.
