Costa senior and three year volleyball player, Taylor Deckert, was just announced as the most valuable player of the All Bay League, and is one of the best Liberos in Costa girls volleyball history. She is ending her Costa volleyball career on a high note, leaving a lasting legacy on the program and at the school.
Deckert’s stats this season include 389 digs, 43 aces, and a pass rating of 2.2. She also led her team with a total of 526 digs and 577 serve receptions. Rankings wise, for digs, Deckert is ranked in the top eight players of Southern Section 1, and top 19 in the state of California.
Deckert is also committed to play volleyball at the University of Southern California (USC), for the next four years. It will be exciting to see where her college and professional career take her.
In addition to Deckert, several other girls volleyball athletes have recently committed to various colleges. Juniors Audrey Flangan and Milly McGee are bound for the University of Wisconsin and USC. Additionally, juniors Reese Stringer, Bridget Blu, and Ruby Cochran are set to play for the University of Pennsylvania, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Stanford University.
