The Mira Costa softball team’s double header against Cypress on March 9 was high scoring and ultimately ended in Costa’s favor with one tie and one win, making the team’s record 2-1-1.
The Mustangs watched as a five-run lead slowly deteriorated in the first game but were able to hold off Cypress and secure a 10-8 win. The second game was tied 6-6 in the seventh inning but the game ended due to lighting issues, resulting in a tie. Senior third baseman Stefanni Lageunesse delivered a two-run home run in the second game. The girls will take on Brea Olinda on March 12 for their next game.
