On March 24, Mira Costa’s track team hosted Palos Verdes in their first Bay League meet of the season. Battling in every event, the girls tied 68-68. On the other end, the boys easily defeated the Sea Kings with a final score of 101-31.
Junior Ashlee Dotson kept the Mustangs competitive. As an individual, she won the 100 and 200 sprint races but she also helped the Mustangs win the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays. Pole vault cleared their heights as sophomore Meghan Burns won with 9’6” and sophomore Rebecca Hext came in second.
The boys won the meet easily as senior JR Tavai won the shotput and the discus throws events, junior Kyle Hubbard won the 110 and 300m hurdles and senior Brett Douville won the 800m race.
After a competitive Bay League meet, the Mustangs host several teams for the Mustang Relays on March 26.
