Softball sets up for Bay League with wins

The Mira Costa Mustangs softball team played a double header on April 9 against Temple City. With wins of 18-1 and 9-3, Mira Costa’s record improves to 11-2-1 as they begin Bay League play.

The top performers of the games were junior catcher Katie Saunders who had six hits in her seven at bats and seven runs scored in the games. Sophomore Taylor Glover was a force for the Mustangs, hitting two triples, a double and scoring three runs in the games.

The Mustangs are now on a two game winning streak after losing in the championship game of the Katella Tournament. Mira Costa’s next game is at Peninsula with their first league game of the season on April 13.
