The Mira Costa boys volleyball team took out the Palos Verdes Sea Kings in an away game on May 5. The Mustangs beat PV 3-1 to win the final game of the season before CIF. Costa’s record going into CIF is 31-1 for the season and 8-0 in the Bay League.
Costa won the first game with a score of 25-15 but then battled in the second, only winning by a two point margin, 25-23. Palos Verdes made a full-scale comeback in the third and defeated Costa 16-25. However, the Mustangs refused to give in to the Sea Kings and won the fourth and final game 25-22.
The Mustangs will move on to compete in the CIF playoffs on May 9. They have high hopes for the playoffs after being so successful in the season and in Bay League.
