The Mira Costa boys and girls track team hosted Bay League Finals on May 6. Several participants led the league and qualified as individuals for CIF.
Senior Aryn Foland and junior Jenna Tong both finished the mile race with a time under 5:11, the qualifying mark for CIF. In the 3200 race, Foland, senior Shannon Hagedorn, junior Kelli Sugimoto and senior Savannah Pio also qualified for CIF with their performances that were under 11:12. Five distance runners move on to CIF. Junior Ashlee Dotson also advances as the Bay League Champion of the 100 and 200 and the anchor for the 4×100 and 4×400.
Senior Ryan Morrow took home a first place finish in the pole vaulting division, while junior Tyler Hext added a new personal record of 12 feet and a fourth place finish. Junior Adam Perez and senior Brett Douville will represent the distance boys at CIF.
The qualifying individuals will compete at CIF preliminaries on May 14 at Moore Park.
