The theme of Mira Costa’s Prom for 2011 this will be “La Soirée à Paris.” Student Government announced this plan for the annual dance, which will take place at Universal Studio’s Globe Theater, on May 6.
The Globe Theater is built of pieces from multiple movie sets, including a set containing a vintage street of Paris.
“We all thought it was a really awesome idea to take one scene and blow it up to an entire theme,” junior class President Mackenzie Austin said. “What makes this prom really interesting is [that] everything doesn’t have to directly correlate: the theme is a Parisian party, but you can also take a trip to a fifties diner.”
Prom tickets will be available in the student store starting on May 9. Couple tickets will be $165 with an ASB sticker and $185 without From May 9-13. Prices will increase to $185 with stickers and $205 without from May 16-27.
“Our Student Governments has really done a fantastic job with this year’s prom,” sophomore Sawyer Fuller said. “The venue and theme are both incredible and will make prom very versatile. I’m sure everyone that attends will have a great time and it will really be memorable night.”
