The Mira Costa boys water polo team traveled to Santa Barbara high school for an away game on Sept. 10 to open up the new season. Unfortunately for Costa, the Mustangs fell short and suffered its first loss of the season.

Despite their losing effort, the Mustangs managed to score a few goals on Santa Barbara. Seniors Dylan Colbert and Matt Thornton were among the three who scored a goal in the Mustangs’ 7-3 opening loss.

Costa, with a record of 0-1, will travel to Laguna Beach with high hopes of redeeming themselves and getting their first win of the season. The game will be on Sept. 20 at Laguna Beach High School at 3:15.
