On September 16, the Mira Costa girls’ volleyball team travelled to Las Vegas, Nevada in order to compete in the Durango High School Tournament. The tournament featured many difficult competitors including Edison High School, who the Mustangs lost to in their fifth game on September 8.
The Mustangs played a total of seven matches while competing in the tournament. The Mustangs came out with a positive record, pulling out four wins but losing to three other teams including Edison.
Juniors Corie Bain, Grayce Campbell, and Kelsey McIntire led the team in kills. The three juniors were also key in bringing the team together to obtain their four wins.
Although the team is upset about their three losses, they hope to win their next game against Los Alamitos on Tuesday, September 20 at 5:15 at Mira Costa.
