The Mustangs girls golf team defeated South High on Sept. 20 for the team’s third victory of the season by a score of 198-217 at Los Verdes Golf Course, bringing their undefeated record to 3-0.

The match started off with sophomores Jenny Johnson and Megan Kim both getting pars on the first hole. On the following hole, Junior Kari Gordon and freshman Taylor St. Germain shot a birdie and par, respectively.

Sophomore Mika Pascual shot pars through the sixth, seventh, and eighth holes. Junior Raquel Gordon and sophomore Samantha Pulido finished with a score of 45 and 49, respectively.

“I played my shots to the best of my ability and, overall, our team delivered a well-deserved victory,” Pulido said.

The girls’ next match is Sept. 27 against West High at Chester Washington golf course. Yesterday, Costa played in the Burbank tournament at DeBell course. Due to the time of publication, results were unavailable for print.

“The end results will hopefully be to make CIF,” coach Tim Kelley said. “The girls are always able to come through for the team.”
