Water polo plays well but falls in Championship

On the weekend of September 30th, the Boys Water Polo team played in the South Bay Tournament and faced Torrance, South Pas, Chadwick, and Peninsula High Schools.

The boys beat Torrance 14-2, Chadwick 9-5, South Pasadena 12-8, and fell just short to Peninsula by a score of 5-10 in the tournament’s Championship.

The Mustang’s were led by seniors Dylan Colbert, Josh Hunttinger, Matt Thornton, Justin Pratt, and junior Jimmy Bissel.

“We were upset, said Thornton. “ Now we are focusing on our game against Palos Verdes on Tuesday.”

The team’s next game will be the first big home game against rival Palos Verdes on October 4th. The two games after will be against Montebello at Commerce Natatorium on October 6th and against La Canada at Costa on October 7th.
