Coming off a triumphant win over Peninsula in the week prior, the Mira Costa football team traveled to Leuzinger High School on Nov. 4 with hopes of getting another win over the Olympians. The Mustangs stampeded over Leuzinger and ended the game with a spotless score of 55-0, enhancing Costa’s record to 3-1 in Bay League and 4-5 overall.
Despite the absence of senior running back Brandon Edmond due to an injury, Costa was still able to pull off the perfect win on Friday. Junior quarterback Ryan Sweigart completed seven passes out of 11 attempts for 90 yards. Junior wide receiver Raphael Lawson-Gale was one of Sweighart’s most popular targets, scoring two touchdowns.
The Mustangs will take their two-game winning streak back home face rival Redondo Union High School on Nov. 11 in Waller Stadium.
