Mustangs cross country sees success at Mt. SAC

On Oct. 22, the Costa cross country teams competed in the Mt. SAC Invitational and finished fourth and seventh, respectively.

The boys raced in the Division 1-2 race and came in fourth place out of 15 teams. Hart High School finished first with 86, Redondo Union High second with 100 points, Peninsula High third with 109 and Costa fourth with 111 points.
Senior Travis Taylor finished first for Costa and placed 13th overall with a time of 16:07, while senior Zach Adler finished 17th overall with a time of 16:13. Senior Sammy Nunan placed 24th (16:26), senior Adam Perez finished 26th (16:30) and senior Pablo Diaz finished 31st (16:40).

The girls competed in the Division 1-2 Sweepstakes race and placed seventh out of 16 teams. Senior Kelli Sugimoto placed first for Costa and 10th overall with a time of 18:02. Senior Jenna Tong finished close behind in 30th place with a time of 18:37. Sophomore Abby Hong placed 61st (19:23), senior Vivien Cherrette placed 66th (19:32) and junior Sarah Locke-Henderson placed 70th (19:39).
