The Mira Costa wrestling team traveled out to South Hills High School on January 7 to compete in a duel meet style tournament with a total of five teams including Redondo Union High School.
The Mustangs faced head to head against Redondo Union and lost as a team. Despite the loss seniors Tyler Emery (170lbs) and Ian Goodbody (182lbs) and junior Jake Shapiro (132lbs) all finished 5-0 in their respected weight class matches.
“Our top wrestlers emerged victorious,” Emery said. “Our hard work is starting to pay off and it is a great overall feeling as a wrestler.”
The team will compete next on Thursday January 12 at West Torrance High School.
